Today’s edition of SPORT, is once again focusing on the one and only Erling Haaland, as the links between him and Barcelona continue to intensify. After catching his agent Mino Raiola and father Alf-Inge Haaland landing at the El-Prat airport in Barcelona, the media has gone into a frenzy.
The Borussia Dortmund star is probably the most sought-after player in the transfer market right now, and many top clubs aside from Barcelona and Real Madrid, such as Manchester City, Manchester United and more are vying for his signature.
Reports even suggest that Raiola and Haaland Senior were spotted in London following their trip to Spain. However, the Spanish outlet state that Haaland prioritizes a move to Spain and has a strong desire to play in La Liga.
They believe that Manchester City are therefore considering withdrawing from the race to sign the Norwegian. Meanwhile, the optimism within the Blaugrana camp seems to be rising since there is a sense that he may still end up costing less than the hefty 150 million euro price that has been slapped on him.
Reports that followed the meeting between Haaland’s entourage and Barcelona president Joan Laporta stated that the negotiation went well, with Barcelona confident that they will be able to meet Haaland’s contract demands if he were to sign.
The outlet today also highlight that as alternatives, Barcelona are considering the signings of Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, who has been linked to the club for a long time, as well as Tottenham Hotspur star man Harry Kane.
The Haaland saga however, is far from over as Laporta considers his signing an absolute priority. The summer window will be extremely eventful for the 20-year-old.
